I'm Nicolaas Netherland, a Content Designer with over 6 years of experience helping small and large businesses improve their UX and in-product communication.

I love making design more usable, solving complex problems, and creating scalable, adaptable content systems.

I'm detail-oriented without losing sight of the bigger picture. I've built and led design teams of up to 12 members, and love to mentor and share knowledge in this space.

Having worked for several international companies, I have a deep understanding of localisation needs and procedure, as well what businesses need to effectively scale to new markets.

When I'm not working

I love to learn. In the past year, I've taught myself Python, JavaScript, HTML and CSS, and use them daily in my own personal projects (including this website!).

I love language. I'm native in English, fluent in German, proficient in Swedish, and I've dabbled in Mandarin, Russian, Latin, and even Old English.

I love to game. I'm especially interested in strategy and deck-building games — basically anything with complex decision trees.

I love the outdoors. I'm an avid climber and cyclist who loves camping and cooking on an open fire.
